A clause at the end of a Will that confirms it was signed and witnessed correctly. It helps to prove the Will’s validity by outlining who was present when the Will was signed and when the witnesses added their signatures.
Legal Requirement:
- Required under Wills Act 1837 (Section 9):
- The Will must be signed by the testator in the presence of two witnesses, who also sign.
- The attestation clause simplifies proving the Will’s validity.
